Also nice is to use the GVIM server/client capability, so you can keep one window open and don&#039;t need to open/close all the time:
 - start GVIM with special servername:
   $&gt; gvim --servername vimail
 - for &#039;Text Editor&#039; use:
   gvim --servername vimail --remote-wait-silent
 - write your email, save and finish with &#039;:bd&#039;
